January 23: Think Before You Speak

Hello families,

When faced with a stressful situation, it can be too easy to blurt out the first thing that pops into our heads. However, thoughtless words can cause situations to get worse.

This week, we hope our elementary kids will learn to think about the words they use with others. We pray the words they use will help others and point them to Jesus!

Plus, our preschool kiddos are hearing the story of the Good Samaritan and learning that Jesus teaches us to help others. Because we can help everyone, even those who are different than us.

We have in-person worship (register in advance) and our online broadcast today. You can watch this week's episodes of Kids Worship on-demand (or watch via YouTube).

Love,
Miss Elisa

This week’s preschool episode

  • All month, our preschoolers are learning with Miss Elisa that Jesus teaches us important things.

  • Today we get to hear the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)... and focus on how Jesus teaches us to help others.

  • Practice our preschool memory verse: The crowds were amazed at his teaching (Matthew 7:28).

This week’s Elementary Episode

  • This month, our elementary kiddos are exploring with Miss Elisa that self-control is choosing to do what you should even when you don’t want to.

  • Today's story is all about choosing our words carefully (Proverbs 12:18) and that we should think before we speak.

  • Practice our elementary memory verse: God’s power has given us everything we need to lead a godly life (2 Peter 1:3).

This week’s So and So episode

  • Every week, you can watch The So and So Show on-demand. It's a great way to revisit the elementary story and life application from Kids Worship during the middle of your week as a family.

  • In this week's episode: John, Brandon, Stephen, and Kellen explore the key question: How can words make things better?
