January 9: How to Show Self-Control

Hello families,

Reminder: we have in-person worship (register in advance) and our online broadcast today. You can watch this week's episodes of Kids Worship on-demand (or watch via YouTube).

This month, our elementary kiddos are learning all about self-control. Even when we face unexpected circumstances (like my bad hair day in this week’s episode), we can respond to them with self- control. We can trust that we don’t need to rush in or take matters into our own hands. We can trust that God is working in our lives. And that is indeed a comforting thought!

Love,
Miss Elisa

This week’s preschool episode

  • All month, our preschoolers are learning with Miss Elisa that Jesus teaches us important things.

  • Today we get to hear the story of the lost sheep (Luke 15:3-7)... and focus on how Jesus teaches us that we are important to God.

  • Practice our preschool memory verse: The crowds were amazed at his teaching (Matthew 7:28).

This week’s Elementary Episode

  • This month, our elementary kiddos are exploring with Miss Elisa that self-control is choosing to do what you should even when you don’t want to.

  • Today's story is all about broken-down walls (Proverbs 25:28) and that when we lose control, it can cause trouble.

  • Practice our elementary memory verse: God’s power has given us everything we need to lead a godly life (2 Peter 1:3).

This week’s So and So episode

  • Every week, you can watch The So and So Show on-demand. It's a great way to revisit the elementary story and life application from Kids Worship during the middle of your week as a family.

  • In this week's episode: John, Brandon, Stephen, and Kellen explore the key question: When do you lose control?
