January 2: Stories for the New Year

Hello families,

Happy new year! Reminder: we will not be gathering in-person today, Sunday January 2 (our service for grownups is online-only at 10:30am). You can watch this week's episodes of Kids Worship on-demand (or watch via YouTube).

This month we're learning about Jesus the storyteller (through amazing stories like the prodigal son and the good samaritan) and the importance of self-control (choosing to do what you should even when you don't want to). I look forward to exploring these topics with you and your family!

Love,
Miss Elisa

This week’s preschool episode

  • All month, our preschoolers are learning with Miss Elisa that Jesus teaches us important things.

  • Today we get to hear the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-24)... and focus on how Jesus teaches us that God loves us no matter what.

  • Practice our preschool memory verse: The crowds were amazed at his teaching (Matthew 7:28).

This week’s Elementary Episode

  • This month, our elementary kiddos are exploring with Miss Elisa that self-control is choosing to do what you should even when you don’t want to.

  • Today's story is all about Jesus tempted in the desert (Luke 4:1-13, Matthew 4:1-11) and that we can be ready to do the right thing.

  • Practice our elementary memory verse: God’s power has given us everything we need to lead a godly life (2 Peter 1:3).

This week’s So and So episode

  • Every week, you can watch The So and So Show on-demand. It's a great way to revisit the elementary story and life application from Kids Worship during the middle of your week as a family.

  • In this week's episode: John, Brandon, Stephen, and Kellen explore the key question: When is it hard to do the right thing?
