February 6: Caring for Others

Hi families,

It's a new month and new themes for TGC Kids, and we're learning all about love! We have in-person worship (register in advance) and our online broadcast today. You can watch this week's episodes of Kids Worship on-demand (or watch via YouTube).

  • Preschool is exploring God's love through the lessons of Jesus. So let's get the party started! This week is about the parable of preparing a banquet where everyone is invited (Matthew 22:8-10).

  • Elementary is exploring compassion, which is caring enough to do something about someone else's need. This week we're learning that God has compassion for us and we can care for others (Luke 4:14-30).

Next Sunday, February 13, your kids are welcome to bring valentines for their classmates. Reply to this email if you need a class list of names for your child. We will be returning to individual classrooms (instead of the gym) and celebrating with snacks and fun activities.

Also, starting Monday, February 14, join our new Relationships Course as we identify long established patterns we follow in relationships (friendship, dating, marriage, family) and apply the way of Jesus to strengthen our ways of relating to those closest to us. Learn more »

Please drop me a line and let me know how I can be praying for you and your family this week!

Love,
Miss Elisa

This week’s preschool episode

  • All month, our preschoolers are learning with Miss Elisa that Jesus loves everyone.

  • Today we get to hear the story of Jesus’ parable of the banquet (Matthew 22:8-10)... and focus on how Jesus loves everyone.

  • Practice our preschool memory verse: Do everything in love (1 Corinthians 16:14).

This week’s Elementary Episode

  • This month, our elementary kiddos are exploring with Miss Elisa that compassion is caring enough to do something about someone else’s need.

  • Today's story is all about Jesus’ mission statement (Luke 4:14-30) and that following Jesus means caring about others.

  • Practice our elementary memory verse: The Lord has shown you what is good. He has told you what He requires of you. You must act with justice. You must love to show mercy. And you must be humble as you live in the sight of your God (Micah 6:8).

This week’s So and So episode

  • Every week, you can watch The So and So Show on-demand. It's a great way to revisit the elementary story and life application from Kids Worship during the middle of your week as a family.

  • In this week's episode: John, Brandon, Stephen, and Kellen explore the key question: What is your purpose in life?
