November 21: Giving Thanks

Kids Worship for November 21, 2021

Hello families,

Happy Thanksgiving! May you have a safe and joyful week of peace, family, and yummy food. We’ll be in-person at Middle School 51 today and next Sunday. Or you can follow all the kids worship action right here on-demand (or on YouTube).

A quick word of encouragement for Thanksgiving. You or your child might be thinking: what exactly is the key to finding gratitude? Low expectations!

The lower your expectations are, the happier you are with whatever you get. Release them, and you might be surprised how great your felt experience over the holidays will be. Low expectations foster gratitude because they help us see everything that comes our way as a gift.

Want to learn more? Just watch this week’s episodes as a family!

Love,
Miss Elisa

This week’s preschool episode

  • All month, our preschoolers are learning with Miss Elisa that we can thank God for everything.

  • Today we get to hear the story of manna (Exodus 16)... and focus on how we can thank God for food.

  • Practice our preschool memory verse: I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart. (Psalm 111:1)

This week’s Elementary Episode

  • This month, our elementary kiddos are exploring with Miss Elisa that contentment is learning to be okay with what we have.

  • Today's story is all about the Israelites longing for Egypt (Exodus 16–17) and learning that we don’t have to miss out on what we have right now.

  • Practice our elementary memory verse: Then He said, "Watch out! Be on your guard against wanting to have more and more things. Life is not made up of how much a person has." (Luke 12:15)

This week’s So and So episode

  • Every week, you can watch The So and So Show on-demand. It's a great way to revisit the elementary story and life application from Kids Worship during the middle of your week as a family.

  • In this week's episode: John, Brandon, Stephen, and Kellen explore the key question: What is good in your life right now?
