Special Initiatives for Holy Week

Invite a Friend to Easter

We are changing the format of our Sunday worship experience to make it much easier for friends and neighbors to join us for Easter. We will be broadcasting a special service at 10:30am. Please pray about who you will invite to join as we celebrate the ultimate hope offered by Jesus’ resurrection.

Holy Week Reflections

At noon on each day of Holy Week we will have a shared moment of reflection and prayer for anyone who can join. These will be live moments where we consider where in the week Jesus and the disciples were and use that as a launching point to worship and pray for our city and world. We will resume our previous mode for daily reflections after Holy Week.

24 Hours of Prayer and Fasting

We will be joining with churches all across NYC for a time of fasting and prayer over the 24 hours leading up to Maundy Thursday (Wednesday 7pm—Thursday 7pm). This will be a unique opportunity to intercede for our city and world in this crisis and to form a 24-hour citywide chain of prayer. Each church will have one hour that they will have particular responsibility for and ours is Thursday from 4-5pm. You will be able to join us live during that hour.

Maundy Thursday

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” We have provided a Maundy Thursday table liturgy to facilitate a time of prayer, reading, meditation, worship, and service as we remember the extravagant love of Jesus.

Good Friday

Use our Good Friday table liturgy on your own or with friends to move through a meditative time of prayer, Scripture readings, solemn music, confession and contemplation as we reflect together on Jesus' sacrifice through His crucifixion and death.

Easter Egg Hunt

All are invited to join us in a unique Brooklyn-wide Easter Egg Hunt. Spread color and the love of Jesus by creating egg decorations to put in your window or on your sidewalk. Hear more from Elisa and Danielle.

Care for our Church Family

Jesus said the world would know we are his disciples by the way we love one another. We want to do all we can to care for and support one another during this crisis. Please let us know how you are doing and how we can pray for and come alongside you.

Ways to Serve

While this is a painful time for all of us, we want to challenge ourselves to look for ways to show love to our neighbors who are enduring even greater hardship during this time. Please consider these opportunities to care for some of the most vulnerable in our city.
