Supporting Roots Cafe

Patricia Manwaring, owner of Roots Cafe and attendee at Trinity Grace Church, shares the story of Roots Cafe in the midst of a global pandemic. Film by Jeremy McDaniel, Armistead Booker, and Daniel Vestal.

We are continually inspired and amazed at the beautiful opportunities to love and serve our neighbors across the city who are deeply affected by the current crisis. There are so many worthy efforts going on so we encourage people to engage the needs you see around you or are passionate about.

Love Our Neighbors

Our friends at Roots Cafe have setup several ways you can provide for those in need during this time:

  • Food Pantry: you can get involved by donating food, volunteering to help with the pantry, or contributing to their GoFundMe and Amazon Pantry. You can also give a friend or neighbor a Roots eGift Card.

  • Winter Clothing Drive: donate your new and gently-used outerwear and new hats, scarves, and gloves to help keep over 500 children in Win Shelters warm through the winter. Donate in-person by November.

If you have questions about how you can help, please contact Patricia.

Honest Conversations

Roots Cafe hosts “Covid Conversations,” a series of three informal gatherings listening to one another’s stories from the last eight months. The next session starts Monday October 5 (7pm), talking about the things we have lost, the things we have gained and what it looks like to see ourselves and our city regroup and move forward.

If you want to attend, RSVP with Heather.
