TGC Kids Preview for May

It’s May! We’re right in the middle of Eastertide, which is a fancy word that refers to the time of celebration following Easter Sunday… leading all the way up to Pentecost at the end of the month. Here’s a preview of the themes, verses, and ideas you will explore and discuss in your home. Invite your child to watch Miss Danielle and Miss Elisa with you!

Preschool — the Mighty Oaks

Our preschool classes (all children 12 months old through preschoolers) are learning to say “God loves me!”

Memory Verse

Miss Danielle shares our memory verse. Follow along with the hand motions: “Nothing at all” (shake head and wave your arms in front of you) “can ever separate us” (lock your fingers together) “from God’s” (point up with both fingers) ”love" (hug yourself), “Romans 8:39” (open your hands like a book).

Parents: explore the ideas behind the weekly activities and stories told in our theme for May, "Lemonade Stand.” We want preschoolers know that God has put a lot of planning, creating, and love into each of them.

Elementary — The Adventurers

Our elementary classes (all children Kindergarten through 5th Grade) are learning about determination, which is “deciding it's worth it to finish what you started."

Memory Verse

Miss Elisa shares the story of the Holy Spirit, the life application of determination, and this month’s memory verse from Galatians 6:9: “Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time, we will gather a crop if we don't give up.” Check it out!

Throughout the Bible, we read about all sorts of people who showed determination in the face of hardship and difficulty. They relied on God’s strength to get them through it. Even Jesus Himself endured through the pain of the cross so that we would be able to have a forever relationship with God. When it comes to the situations in our own lives, God gives us the Holy Spirit to empower us to keep going, even when life gets difficult.
