Sundays and Digital Resources

Dear Church Family,

We are thinking of you all and sending our love during this uniquely challenging time. I want to encourage you to continue to check in on one another and offer love and support however you can. To that end, we wanted to share some resources we hope you will find helpful in the days ahead.

Sunday Worship

As mentioned in our last update, we are encouraging you to gather via video conference to worship with us this Sunday. While our health officials are urging us to stay home as much as possible, we will convert the home church gatherings we had last week to be virtual gatherings where we can move through a time of prayer, worship, and teaching together. You can find a selection of these gatherings to join on our Groups page or you can our recommended video conferencing tools to host your own with your life group or friends. The elements of our shared liturgy will be posted over the next couple of days including resources for our kids.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. —Hebrews 10:24-25

The circumstances require us to be flexible and creative but this practice of gathering to pray and worship together is absolutely vital for our souls during this time. We hope you’ll join us!

Daily Reflections

We began a new initiative today to share short daily reflections from members of the community via video. These will be an ongoing way for us to encourage one another and maintain a daily sense of connection to the Body of Christ. We will be sharing these short videos throughout the week on our websiteInstagram, and Facebook.

Talking to Kids about Coronavirus

Our own Mary Castillejos, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with children, wrote a very helpful article on how to talk to young children about what’s going on in the world right now. We trust parents and those who work with children will find it helpful.

Small Business Zoom Call

Jason Locy is one of our elders and also a small business owner. He is hosting a call on the evening of Tuesday, March 24 for those who are trying to lead small businesses through the current economic impact of this time. The aim is to share tips, tools, explore connections, and pray together. If you are interested in joining, please contact Jason.

Prayer and Support

Remember that you can reach out to us at any time with a prayer request, need or concern. We will be sharing more next week about ways we can practically support one another and help address needs within our community during this time.

Warmly in Christ,
Josh and the TGC Team
