TGC Kids and TGC Youth presented a new live production, “The Cohort of Star Experts,” a hilarious original work written by our own Gillian Fritzsche. It’s a great reminder of how the birth of the Savior changed everything for us and the world.

Directed by Elisa Booker and Danielle Swink

Following A Star

It’s currently 4 B.C. on Caesar’s calendar in the land of Roman-occupied Judea, a faraway place where the caravan camels roam; where it’s flat and immense and the heat is intense. It’s barbaric, but hey, it’s home.

Today we honor the wisest of men on a journey following the star. They are on their way to meet the baby king… ahem, we mean the toddler king.

Setting the Stage

Our play takes place in three different moments in the Bible and extraordinarily ordinary locations…

  • The Cohort of Star Experts’ Study possibly somewhere in Persia

  • King Herod’s Throne Room in the bustling capital city of Jerusalem

  • Mary and Joseph’s Home in the sleepy bedroom community of Bethlehem

About Our Song

Our littlest ones perform this year’s Christmas Song, “Jesus Is Born,” reminding us why Jesus came to live in this world. This is one of our favorite songs from the Rain for Roots album, Big Stories for Little Ones, written by Sally Lloyd Jones, Flo Paris, and Sandra McCracken.

“His name is Jesus, God’s little boy, his baby son. Yes, Jesus once was little, too. Why did he come? Oh, to be with you!”
